Transition to Net Zero
Journey to a sustainable future
We’re taking decisive, science-led action to decarbonise our operations and the services we provide. This is more than a pledge, it’s an actionable roadmap aligned with the Paris Agreement.
Our science-based commitment
We are preparing to submit our carbon reduction targets for validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming for a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 from our 2023 baseline. Over 95% of our emissions come from the travel services we provide.
We engage our supply chain and customers to reduce Scope 3 emissions and drive industry-wide impact. Portman Travel Group is committed to Net Zero across all scopes by 2050, with Scope 1 and 2 expected to reach Net Zero even sooner based on current progress.
Our action plan
We focus on two priorities:
- Reducing our operational footprint through continuous improvement.
- Addressing emissions from travel and services, our largest impact area.
To ensure accountability, we partner with industry experts. We use a leading carbon accounting platform to measure and report progress, and work with Greengage Solutions to set science-based targets. Our decarbonisation plan is fully embedded in the group’s business strategy.
